Album Review
With this rather recent output, CARCASS fittingly combine their successful 2013 album ‘Surgical Steel’ alongside the separately released EP ‘Surgical Remission / Surplus Steel’ (2014). Although this offers a nice collectible, once more, fans of the band probably obtained at least one of the two versions beforehand. However, the combination of the two also makes sense on a musical level, as the 14 songs are framed by the two ‘1985’ versions. Moreover, an interesting evolvement within the songs as well as differences between the ‘proper’ album and the ep are nicely put forward. With this, everything seems to be said concerning the Complete Edition of ‘Surgical Steel’, notwithstanding the musical quality and good production.
