Korn, Machine Head, Gallows
At first: A really big sorry, that you could read this review later than normally accepted. I’m better to photograph a gig and so I needed my time. People, who would like to support me in Berlin for writing reviews, are very welcome. But good things come to those who wait. Sadly I couldn’t photograph this time. I’m very happy to present you pictures of KORN and MASCHINEHEAD anyway. Tremendous thanks to Grit Rümmler!

Vainstream Rockfest 2009 Day 1: Hatebreed, Gogol Bordello, Suicidal Tendencies, The Gaslight Anthem, Ignite, Dillinger Escape Plan, K.I.Z., Walls of Jericho, Muff Potter, Bouncing Souls, Bring Me The Horizon, Mr Irish Bastard
The fourth anniversary of Vainstream Festival! It was to be a big, hot, boozy party as in the years before. Considering the temperatures one was put in mind to the festival’s premier taking place on the year’s hottest day, but didn’t have any effect on the mood and what’s better than good music on a sunny summer’s day? Real good music on two sunny summer days! That’s what the organizers must’ve thought and so presented this year’s edition on two days. Even as a mere attendee it’s a good feeling to see a festival grow time after time. A definitive sign of the good job, those responsible are doing.

Legacy Fest Day 3: Thorondir, Endstille, Belphegor, Equilibrium, Eisregen, Ensiferum and Kreator
The last day of the Legacy Fest came and we all hoped for better weather and, finally, got some bright and hot sunshine. The mood was great, everybody was happy and the beer just disappeared in our glasses. The last day also seemed to be really promising with bands like ENDSTILLE, BELPHEGOR and KREATOR. So, we searched for the sun block, got ourselves prepared and started in a great day filled with great music.

3rd-5th July 2009Hörnerfest: Rhyannon, Heidenlaerm, XIV Dark Centuries, Fiddlers Green, Saltatio Mortis, Bronze Age Horns, Dragonflug, Attonitus, Larkin, Volkstrott, Fejd, Odroerir, Feuerschwanz, Wolfmare, Nachtgeschrei, Menhir
I got to the remote festival field very late to be met by well organised and really helpful staff who pointed me in the direction of everything I would need. Great start! The following morning I checked out the site and found that there were ample showers and toilets and some good catering and bar set amongst the medieval market area. The staff was helpful and polite and a generally friendly and happy atmosphere existed which prevailed for the whole festival.

Tesla, Heaven’s Basement
Concerning its naming, the Californian formation TESLA was inspired by the discoverer of the alternating current, Nikola Tesla. Therefore, the band represents the straight electronic guitar sound in more than one way. Starting in the Hair Metal era of the 1980s, TESLA reached its breakthrough by releasing the single `Modern Day Cowboy´ taken from the debut album `Mechanical Resonance´ (1986). After the meteoric rise, world tours with ALICE COOPER or DEF LEPPARD were crowned with success as well as the record `The Great Radio Controversy´ (1989).
