THE BOSSHOSS started in 2004 with a string of Country / Western cover versions of contemporary pop or rock songs. Over the course of their career the band has been constantly striving to push their own boundaries, try out new things so to say. Now they’re right in the middle of their 7th year of existence and are going to release their newest album ‘Liberty Of Action’ on 25th November. First song is the title track already and it’s got a pretty neat groove for you in stock. Musically it’s like a crossbreed between classic 60s Rock’n’Roll and a b it of punk attitude. ‘Don’t Gimme That’ goes down a more electronic road with a beat insisting that you move to it. ‘Live It Up’ then is more of a Country storyteller’s thing about living your life to the fullest; the way you want to and to flee the golden cage. ‘I Keep On Dancing’ is going to be a real party favourite. From zero to hero and with no intention of giving anyone the chance to catch a breath!
A kind of a disco beat is underscoring ‘Hayday’ actually. Sounds a little estranging on first listen but you’ll get used to it quickly and the uplifting mood will do the rest to take you all in for the song. ‘My Country’ actually says it all. It’s one of the most genuine country tracks on the new album. Even though I’m not much of a fan of that genre I’ve got to say that the harmonica melodies in there got an intriguing vibe to them. Now gentlemen get ready to swing the ladies around a bit because it’s time for ‘Riding High, Singing Low’. The ladies won’t take no for an answer by the way. Last but not least there’s the track ‘L.O.V.E’ which celebrates the big band sound in its entire bandwidth. All in all we can say that ‘Liberty Of Action’ is much more than just the sum of its parts. THE BOSSHOSS took inspiration from different eras and genres here expanding their own sound with it so that in the end there’s a fresh sound coming out of it.
