BLEED ELECTRIC is the brainchild of Welsh based musician Chris Maguire who over a period of many years realized the project becoming a band eventually and creating what is now known as 'This Is My Masterpiece'. Opening with 'A New Reason', the EP kicks off with an explosive kind of track throwing at you solid beats and rhymes till you drop. 'Accidental Genius' goes quite a different way, bringing you a twisted disco beat with a combination of alienated chants and rapid-fire vocals. 'Pragmatic' goes though an array of shifts while progressing though the core elements are club fodder beats for a dance-willing crowd.
'Jus' Been Thinkin' 'Bout You (Yeah)' represents the emotional ballad type of song with a little more melancholy inside, while 'Angel Fly' takes off into another sphere with airy synths, piano melodies and crunchy beats. The title track utilize a more organic fabric and the familiar harmonized vocals that are a pain to my ears by the way. Whle technically on top of the game the Eps content doesn't strike a chord with me, really. Maybe it's the way things are delivered that does make it inaccessible to me.
