Album Review

The duo met 2008 in Hamburg and decided to share their passion for music by founding CLARENCE & NAPOLEON. The creative process took them quite a while until they released just recently this debut album. With ‘Breaking the silence’, the albums starts in a slow and sombre way. But already with the next song the album goes up-tempo just to slow down again with the fourth song, ‘5 seconds’. Very interesting is their interpretation of the song ‘Mother’ from DANZIG. It is so different to the original that it took me a while to recognize it and if there weren’t the lyrics I remembered, I would not have noticed that it is a cover version. ‘Beautiful people’ and ‘Goodbyes’ are nice dance tracks. Although this album is a Pop album, it is a good mixture between more quit and some danceable songs. Surely nice, too, to listen to on a relaxed evening alone or with friends. Some songs are ending too suddenly for my taste. Nevertheless I really enjoyed listening to this album as the music is nicely composed and the singer Anne Bauer has a likeable voice. The album is available as standard version, download version but you can also only download each song of this album seperately.
