Band name: Dvation
Album: Metamorphose
Genre: Electronic
Label: none

Introduction

Dvation. Dvation is German. Not only are they German, they are a German Electronic band, that releases heaps and heaps of quite simple but very danceable beats and tunes that will do great at parties. Metamorphose is their 5th album. Dvation is created by Para and Noid, at least that’s what it says on the album. Besides this information, the band seems to hide in the dark tunes of the gothic underworld. Even Google didn’t help me find out more about them. So instead I decided to just write something about their 2006 album, Metamorphose.

Band members

Para – vocals, noice, screams, synths
Noid – programming, sequencing, synths

Review per song

01. Rotten – 5.10
This song has a nervous intro and soon turns out to be a very danceable but quite standard song. Better of using standard tunes and succeed then try something new ant fail right?

02. Love is Suicide – 4.55
This song is a bit slower, its good to listen to and for theme parties for instant. Its atmosphere is a bit eerie.

03. Darkside – 4.20
Darkside sounds more experimental in the beginning. Then the rest of the song is just made to dance too, and with its transformed voices is very suitable for cyber gothic parties.

04. Deep anxiety – 5.12
it’s a bit slower and sounds quite like love is suicide.

05. Respectless/Ybitch – 4.24
Well, the title of the album is not meant to be friendly and every now and again this sound like one of the happier songs on the album and at times is so aggressive its title is chosen very well.

06. Godlike – 6.11
With a German speech in the beginning of the tunes and cleaner beats and samples this songs varies a bit from the rest. Finally.

07. Nowhere man – 4.46
a bit slower and more spherical sounds. I quite like it, because it won’t get on my nerves.

08. Virulent - 4.54
Virulent sounds more like what we’ve already heard before.

09. Smouldering hatred – 5.43
The title was chosen well for this track, the aggression finds its way through your body. The screams added only make this feeling stronger.

10. Godsend (dark-voice mix) – 4.40
With a stronger Industrial beat, this song will do well on parties! To bad the samples are starting to annoy me after some time. Maybe because they are a bit like what I’ve heard before.

11. Razorblade games – 5.28
This song is faster and made purely for moving. Its not possible to just sit down and listen.

12. The last pray (for you) – 4.47
once again the song is not bad at all, but I cant say its renewing. Its been done before, Dvation has made the smart move of good copying instead of bad writing. With a piano in the middle of the track its feeling is more… don’t know, sacred.

13. Cybergods – 3.58
the intro features samples of chains and swords, and quite soon the cyber tunes take over and this lasts until the end of the song.

14. They’re watching Y – 6.28
The last song on Metamorphose lasts quite long. The more experimental tunes and mystical voices make it one of the best tracks on Metamorphose.

Conclusion

After listening to the album several times it noticed you every now and again you find small new and spherical tunes within the music. Every now and again the racks will end very sudden, and I don’t like this. The songs aren’t compact. This is a party album. It’s meant to spin at parties. Its here to make people move. This is the atmosphere breathed by the album. If you take the time to look at their website, Dvation featured on a lot of sampler CD’s. It’s what they do best probably. It’s not an album I would listen to at home.
