BIGELF is a psychedelic rock combo that was formed by Damon Fox and Richard Anton. The band came into existence in Los Angeles, California in the year 1991. Their first EP ‘Closer to Doom’ was released in 1995. The US American quartet dwindled to a trio after that first sign of life. BIGELF recorded their debut ‘Money Machine’ in 1997 but no label was found to release it so that had to wait until the Swedish independent label Record Heaven agreed to release their debut in the year 2000. The band recorded and released three more records since then and is still an insider tip.
Musically the new stuff sits between THE BEATLES, T-REX and at times even AYREON. This record as complex, manic and madness laden as it is very demanding to listen to. The first try should be stone cold sober and if you can handle the stuff try it out again in a different state of mind ( I prefer a very specific amount of alcohol to enter another mentioned state of mind, but don`t overdo it). All in all either this is your cup of tea and you will totally love ‘Into the Maelstrom’ or you get bored if it’s not. Either way I recommend for everyone to try this guys out because they deserve to get bigger in an international way.
