Single Review

DIE FORM is a French Post-Industrial and Electronic band formed in 1977-78. The name DIE FORM means “ The form / shape” in German. DIE FORM’s music sounds like vintage game inspired electro pop. You can hear the vintage synthesizers in the background playing out a dark yet intuitive beat. ‘Schaulust’ is a very classic sounding synth pop song very reminiscent of 1970's synth music with a French twist that is both fun and energetic. The extended remix of the same song is slightly different, a bit more slowed down but with what sounds like slightly more modernized synth sounds. So they provide something for the classical and modern synth enthusiasts.

‘From Dreams to Machines’ is much darker than ‘Schaulust’. It makes you actually feel the transition between your dreams and machines and the reality of artificial intelligence which is really conveyed in this song. The machines will take us over! Dream of your ideal machine! ‘Zonathropia’ starts out with operatic like vocals. It’s like listening to a classic Gothic opera. Hauntingly dramatic in its depth with gloomy vocals coming in between the operatic voice. Reminds me of the theme song to a vampire inspired horror movie. A very creative and flexible group in their choice of music. One moment your listening to Gothic opera and the next to 70s gaming synth. You get more then you expect.
