Alphaville
ALPHAVILLE is a German Synth-Pop band from Münster. They came together 1981. Marian Gold, Bernhard Loyd and Frank Mertens built up the band, which is known worldwide for songs like ‘Big In Japan’ and ‘Forever Young’. Bernhard Loyd is now on his own way, with an online project called ATLANTIC POPES. Frank Mertens is with his music and art project called MAELSTROM. Music & Performance
Saturday night in Bochum. Zeche Carl and a big audience were waiting for ALPHAVILLE. While waiting for the concert getting started, a huge eagerness filled up the crowd. Right in time at eight o'clock, ALPHAVILLE rocked the staged. With youthful enthusiasm and obvious fun, the five band members started into a fantastic show. With charm and esprit, the band lead threw the show. It was the first time in Bochum, Zeche Carl, for ALPHAVILLE and they really enjoyed being there. A great light show accompanied the strong songs. The concert was a new way of interpretation presenting a mix of new and old compositions. There were also a lot oft highlights during the show. It was Dave Goods birthday, so the whole audience in the hall started singing “Happy Birthday”. Later on, Marian emptied a beer mug and right after that, another one was handed. Marian gave up, while he was laughing an calmed down the audience which wanted him to ex the second beer as well.
The songs at the end of the show had a tragedy and melancholy touch. The impressing and strong performance kept the audience calm and tender-hearted. After about two hours, the concert was over. Four bonus songs completed a fantastic concert, which was the last one of the tour.
