Deine Lakaien & God’s Bow

On that Monday, not all people in munich were heading to the Oktoberfest. In the East one could see a lot of activity around the Theaterfabrik where DEINE LAKAIEN should appear to play one of their shows supporting their new album.

God’s Bow

In April 1997, the Electro / Darkwave band GOD'S BOW from Szczecin/ Poland was founded from the band PCM, which played these times quite hard Electro/ Industrial music. However, since the restart, Ethno-and Ambient elements influenced the style of the band since that time. The first live appearance of GOD'S BOW was at the Castle Party Festival 1997 in Bolkow/ Poland. Since then, they gave many concerts, among others with bands like CLAN OF XYMOX, INKUBUS SUKKUBUS or also PSYCHE. http://www.godsbow.com

Music & Performance
On time at 20.30 o'clock, singer Agnieszka Kornet and keyboarder KeyP appeared on the rather sombre stage in the Theaterfabrik. During half an hour, the artists presented a small choice of their many pieces. Indeed, the well-chosen songs looked rather monotonous and thus it did not surprise that no mood wanted to arise. The sound also left much to be desired for. The presentation was anything but lively. All along, the singer rather clung to her mike and hardly moved. Hence, it was also not astonishing that their appearance was recompensed with only moderate applause. Most fans probably waited anyway for the headliner of the evening only...

Deine Lakaien

DEINE LAKAIEN is a German Darkwave band which was founded already in 1985. The music style combines elements of Darkwave with Pop and pinches of Avant-garde. The project consists of singer Alexander Veljanov and the former bandmaster of the Baden state theatre in Karlsruhe, Ernst Horn. They published their first album under the name DEINE LAKAIEN in 1986. Now in August 2014, their newest album 'Crystal Palace' was released and reached place 11 of the German charts. Unforgettably remains certainly their tour of 2007 on which they appeared for the first time with 40 orchestra-musicians of the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt. http://www.deine-lakaien.com

Music & Performance
Then after a half-hour break it was time: DEINE LAKAIEN entered - for the first time with live drummer and bassist - the stage. From beginning they had won the audience in the quite warm hall for themselves. During two hours they presented - straight through their repertoire - all successful songs of the last years. From older songs like 'Over And Done' to the newer songs as for example 'Gone' and 'One Night', the setlist met all the wishes. By the application of both live musicians their music got quite a new face. The piercing voice of Alexander Veljanov, which floated above all, increased by the bass sounds, was excitingly welcomed the listeners. Thus, every song was roofed with strong applause. The mood before and on stage of the not completely sold-out venue was very good during the whole concert and also the sound was perfect - in contrast to the support.

The cosy light show was an additional highlight on this evening. Indeed, it would have looked even more impressive probably in a little higher hall. Too fast the time passed and after the additions the band left under blustering applause the stage. This indeed was a brilliant concert evening with DEINE LAKAIEN which began, unfortunately, with a considerable weak support band... I hope, DEINE LAKAIEN will soon come to the south again.
