Album Review

It doesn’t come as a surprise that INTRONAUT played as a support for TOOL and CYNIC amongst others. We have here INTRONAUT’s fourth album and certainly TOOL’s influence will be found, throw in some polyrhythms, some psychedelic PINK FLOYDian sound wall into it as well. Sounds very imaginative and complex, doesn’t it? Not quite. I imagined that being stoned may make it better, but frankly even if I was still only merely disguised as a responsible adult, I’d have strained to find it anything above mediocrity. It did have one effect: it was relaxing... say like a meditation – it cleared my mind from the ripples of thoughts, but after ‘Milk Leg’, in the middle of the album, it became just plain boring or maybe plunging the depths of emptiness was exactly the point, I’m not sure, I was willing to follow it with a pioneering spirit, it just wasn’t happening... Certainly the attempts to be imaginative and to make it a complex experience, to create some intricate moments of beauty were there, but they were just not enough to elevate it into anything remarkable, memorable, enthusiasm or thought-provoking. Good for a background noise to relax to for a short spasm of time.
