INDUSTRIEGEBIET formed in 2004, initially intended to be an Industrial Noize band, but as time the style changed. With ‘Hodenkapsel’, they release their debut 4 years after the project’s inception.
Pure, lightly melodic industrial, that’s what applies best on the first track of the album ‘Jung und erfahren’ building up layer after layer and casually using a speech sample of the German series Stromberg , a very cynical one. ‘Blut für Blut’ makes broken, mechanical beats its priority; even most of the melodic parts have been passed through a distortion filter. Also potential dance floor filler! The title of the next one is most likely an insult for every catholic as the title ‘Jesus Christus schluckt’ means Jesus Christ swallows. Apart from that and the used speech samples it’s quite an average piece of club compatible music, not so much distorted as the last one, though. ‘Sorgen um Gott’ is the most “catchy” song, because it’s simultaneously the most melodic one, featuring keyboard parts and string arrangements as well in addition to the usual speech samples and the industrial rhythm sections The next one ‘Sex mit einer Leiche’, deals with the issue of Necrophilia in its own way and speech samples, apparently from a move are the means to transport the message. I guess that movie must have been a satire or something; otherwise I would label this as pretty disgusting. The bass drum of the track has more power than in any other track before layered with scissoring synth riffs and sequences.
Rhythmic industrial with speech samples, heard that before somewhere, but at least I can see some kind of message in the samples. Nevertheless, in a long run it’s definitely too monotonous for my taste.
