FORESIN is a Greek band formed in 2006 by George P. and Lazaros G. who wanted to express the dark side of people through music. Influenced by the works of DIARY OF DREAMS, MARILYN MANSON and some other formations of the kind, the guys have written enough original material to record the debut album. So, ‘Enarxis’ is notable for its versatility and is definitely intended to strike one’s imagination. The notion to describe the CD may be a “peaceful nightmare” if somebody can envisage such thing, but it’s better to listen to the songs to understand what I mean.
The album starts with ‘End the Begging’, quite short, but very melodic composition that presents some sort of intro and helps to get the general idea about the other tracks. Very good combination of gothic and industrial sounds is able not only to hit the dance floor but also produces a prolonged emotional effect on the listener when the music carries you away from this world into a twisted fairy tale and it’s almost impossible to resist. All the songs are peculiar, but I’d like to mark out some interesting compositions which immediately attracted my attention. In ‘Haunted’, slow cold melody combines with dark beautiful vocals and it prevents the atmosphere of total despair from falling upon you with full force.
While listening to ‘Reign of Rain’ one can easily imagine the first drops of rain, knocking on the window, then turning into downpour and fading as the song ends. ‘Faces’ is a well-balanced track when inner aggression doesn’t burst through the music but still is noticeable enough to keep the listener in suspense. The same can be said about ‘H.I.L.’ but here the transformation of the calm, tranquil sound into vigorous one is even more unpredictable. Thus, ‘Enarxis’ which is finished with two powerful remixes will suit the taste of fans of the genre and of course everyone who likes good qualitative music will find some interesting compositions on this album.
