Album Review
Say hello to oddities… A band called THE HAPPY END releases a record named ‘Echoes of Jericho’ - pretty apocalyptic, if you’d ask me. Apocalyptic is coincident with my notion of THE HAPPY END’s music. Well, music seems not to be the right word… sound spheres is rather correct. Actually, nothing fits right in this case. The music is too manifold, psychedelic, experimental… definitely hard to comprehend, even harder to judge… ‘Echoes of Jericho’ is different from other releases, different from every release I’ve ever heard. It’s an album, that’s worth to listen to several times in order to experience how it leaves you behind. Nobody said it was easy to listen to - but in fact that’s the attraction… after a while. THE HAPPY END fabricated a remarkable creation leading one into half-light. There’s no wrong or right, no black or white - there’s only diffuse shroud of mist of feeling and emotions. Time to listen to and to think about… In that case ‘Echoes of Jericho’ is tearing down the walls again!
