On the 20th of March it was time: The Munich based Pagan-Folk group FAUN came within the scope of their unplugged programme to Abensberg's Kreuzgang - a part of the former Karmelitenkloster. The concert was sold out.
Music & Performance
A little bit after 20 o'clock the four musicians entered the stage which was in a corner of the Kreuzgang and began her presentation with a short explanation, why it is unfortunately not possible in this historical locality, to renounce completely electronic support. Then they opened the concert with the song ‘Satyros’. The concert was stamped by rather quieter songs which Oliver provided in each case with a small entertaining anecdote with regard to origin, language and meaning.
Up to the break after about 45 minutes songs followed like ‘Ne aludj el’ and ‘From the Elben’ from her second album ‘Light’ with which they experienced an accurate fame push. After other 45 minutes and two additions ‘Rosmarin’ and ‘King of Thule’ the end of the concert had come. The mood was relaxed very much and pleasant. The mixture of historical locality, graceful song of Sandra and Fiona, medieval instruments, ballads and songs in for example Old High German and Latin, made the evening a medieval experience of the top class.
