LORD OF THE LOST can be rightly called one of the most dynamic and agile representatives of the contemporary dark scene. This thesis is easily confirmed by single ‘La Bomba’ made just for the announcement of the new album ‘From the Flame into the Fire’. The title track indelibly engraves on the memory of a listener, a good compilation of heavy guitar-sound and Latina-rhythms. In general, it sounds very energetic and... funny. Perhaps LORD OF THE LOST decided to introduce fans of the dark scene to the tradition of summer "beach hits". In any case, ‘La Bomba’ is a good choice both for shooting the official video, and for the announcement of the new album as a whole.
If the original version of the song is expressive enough with its dense and vigorous sound, the remix by BLUTENGEL made the composition softer and more viscous - it has been achieved first and foremost by the abundance of electro elements. In general, the remix turned out in a quite BLUTENGEL-style - dark, gothic and elegant. It continues with ‘I.D.G.A.F.’ A good shake-up after the relaxing melodic remix. Allusions to MARILYN MANSON come to mind inevitably, the composition is made in the spirit of the genre - vigorously, tough, hard and aggressive.
‘When You're Asleep’ stands alone being detached on this single: dark, full of deep melancholy and despair, based on harmonious relation between guitars and synthesizer, in other words very atmospheric song. The final track ‘La(tin) Bomba - Official Not Exactly Very Dark Remix’ is really not very dark. To be honest it’s not dark at all. On the contrary, light, unobtrusive the track continues the experiment with Latina-rhythms, making it accomplished. It turned out unexpected, interesting and again funny.
So ‘La Bomba’ demonstrates the growing professionalism of LORD OF THE LOST, their original approach to the creation of singles and good creative potential.
