Imagine you are at the beginning of an adventurous journey full of mysteries and unknown realms to discover. You know that this will be a long journey from which you might never return again. You are on a mission and you have no choice, and though you are afraid of what will await you, you are willing to leave. This is the atmosphere you will be pulled into while listening to ‘Path Of Blood’, the first album of THE LONELY SOUL EXPERIENCE.
Chris Pohl and Mario Rühlicke from BLUTENGEL have decided to create a symphonic epic, which is a unique combination of orchestral and electronic sounds. It strongly sounds like a film soundtrack of a fantasy adventure. While listening to the music, you are pulled into a fantastic world, travelling back in time, to the ancient days dominated by battles, the rise and fall of nations and the fight for glory and leadership. The electronic and atmospheric elements in each of the tracks give the music a contemporary feel, yet it seems as if it was not of the present age. This emotionally moving, monumental work of art creating a majestic atmosphere gives you goose bumps. Apart from one song, all of the tracks are purely instrumental and composed in a similar way. Merely ‘Lara´s Song’ is the only vocal track standing out and adding variety to the entire album composition.
Although the single tracks on the album are not really characterized by versatility, the album is, in its entirety, a quite impressive and breath-taking work of art. It is a unique combination of several genres and for this reason worth listening, not only for lovers of gothic and orchestral music.
