Album Review

US Power Metal prodigies MARCH IN ARMS were formed in 2012 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. These guys main topics to sing about are war, history and patriotism and normally you would expect a massive cheese fest of bad lyrics and mediocre musicianship but no! MARCH I ARMS is a kick-ass Power Metal band with a modern touch, skills for weeks and a vocalist that always stands his ground even if the lyrics should be cheesy, he somehow avoids that they do sound like it. Vocalist Ryan Knutson is a pretty dominant piece of the band with his distinctive voice that reminds me of both DISTURBED’s David Draiman at its best and AVENGES SEVENFOLD’s M. Shadows but in a more classical setting when it comes to compositions.

‘Pulse of the Daring’ is the band’s second full-length release and if you ask me, they deserve a lot of support because they sound almost flawless yet catchy and the production is pretty good for a band that did the release in 2020 without the backing of a label. The more I listen to this the surer I get that these guys will be big in a few years. Check out bangers like ‘Welcome The Blitz’ a mid-tempo track that is a secret hymn, ‘Pulse Of The Daring’ another stadium Metal track and many more, this shit is pure ear candy! Support them over at Bandcamp, their merch is nice too!
