Album Review

French power metallers NIGHTMARE will unleash their seventh album to date entitled ‘Insurrection’, the follow-up to 2007's ‘Genetic Disorder’. With that being said, you not only get a brand new album it being the band's seventh of course, but receive 10-tracks of non-stop power metalling force. The instrumental usage is done fast and energetic throughout, while the vocals and lyrics seem to glide right on through. Some tunes that stick out the most include ‘Mirrors of Damnation’, ‘Target for Revenge’ and ‘Angels of Glass’; each of which carry on their own uniqueness. Such as ‘Mirrors of Damnation’ creates its own fast pace energy system that allows the music to build up piece by piece creating this non-stop sensation that gets your body and ears pumped when listening.

‘Target for Revenge’ targets the adrenaline side of you, picking up the music's speed a little bit more, drawing you in even further, going down the lines of sounding a lot like their older recordings. Lastly when it comes down to ‘Angels of Glass’ that sums up the entire album, this soft tune captures the whole theme of what NIGHTMARE is trying to produce. Crafting together this unique sound and style that overlaps the music, allowing the guitars to come in every so often creating musical riffs with repeating solo tactics that never seem to get old. ‘Insurrection’ is a melodic power metal ballad album that shall not disappoint.
