Album Review

PLACE4TEARS was founded ten years ago as BLURRED LIPSTICK but as from the start of the year they’re disbanded. This album is a fitting tribute with a kaleidoscope of remixes, covers and new material. The palette is very wide with the prevalent mood of melancholy and mystery. Even if some songs are more dancy, laid between Dark Wave and Goth Rock territory as ‘Dream Sequence’ or ‘Illusion’, some more ambient such as ‘Tears Of Avalon’ that bring to mind DEAD CAN DANCE yet it all seems to create a cohesive whole that feels like a dream dreamt within a body of water and yet diverse enough not to get drowned out by it. Wonderful and rich album which will offer many emotions as it enfolds, an album that should not be ignored.
