Album Review

It is not a common phenomenon to review a debut album of a band that seems to have appeared from nowhere, but hey this here isn`t a very ordinary job so let`s give it a try. The band TOMBSTONED formed in 2010 and it seems that the whole internet isn`t able to provide any biography of the band or its members (I am relieved that I am able to name the members). So without further knowledge of the band here comes the awesome description of their output. The music on this record reminds me of BLACK SABBATH at the best of moments and the overall sound is very psychedelic and swampy.

The guitars sound very old school. The wah wah pedal is stomped to the ground and the whole composition of songs like ‘Last Waltz’ is very jam session loaded. On the whole record there is not a song under five minutes, compared to the “music” most people listen to nowadays a song that lasts eleven minutes would ask too much of the audience. No offense meant but most of the songs are too long even for me and I would wish TOMBSTONED would reconsider their decision to let Jussi sing, the guys reminds me of Robert Smith of THE CURE which is a bad thing for a Rock/ Metal band no matter the exact genre. That said, you can have fun with this album if you can accept a certain clashing with the style. I, for one wish the guys the best of luck for their musical future, they are not ma cup of tea, but they got the balls to risk a thing or two musically.
