PHIL ANSELMO is back again, with a lot of hate and anger. Anselmo became famous with the legendary PANTERA; he also had a lot success with DOWN and formed and/ or played in many other bands and projects like SUPERJOINT RITUAL and VIKING CROWN. With is newest band PHILIP H. ANSELMO AND THE ILLEGALS, which debuted with a split release together with WARBEAST in early 2013, he releases now the first full-length, distributed on Phil’s own label Housecore Records and via Season of Mist.
The songs are very aggressive, groovy and take no prisoners. Perfect soundtrack for a cruel mosh-pit. For me it is a pleasure to hear Phil’s shootings, but for me the music it is sometimes to mechanical brutal - some cheesy PANTERA melodies or some SUPERJOINT RITUAL sleaze would make it a perfect package. So we got 40:44 minutes of hate with a long outro, this is not nice music, this is music for aggression, there is no hit single no fucking ballad. For the right moments it would be very cool.
