Album Review

PERIPHERY from USA are back with a new 7-track EP. In this EP, PERIPHERY made a clever trick: each member of the band composed a track, so we have six tracks plus an intro. The main influences of the band are DREAM THEATER, MESHUGGAH and DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN. The first track of the EP is the intro ‘Overture’, a melodic down tempo piano based track. Then we have ‘Τhe Summer Jam’, a good catchy melodic track. The third track is ‘Feed The Ground’, a very good track with a catchy chorus. Then we have an instrumental track titled ‘Zero’, a track with very good lead guitar melodies and atmospheric keyboards. After 'Zero' we have ‘The Parade Of Ashes’, a more poppy song with very good guitar riffs and vocals. 6th track is ‘Extraneous’. This is the an instrumental dark track influenced by MESHUGGAH. Last track of the EP is ‘Pale Aura’, one more good track with catchy chorus and fast guitar riffs. If you consider yourself as an open minded metal fan don't miss this EP.
