Album Review

“Be careful for what you wish for” seems to fit this third album of TESSERACT, for when you go professional there’s a danger of having to produce albums even when you’re not particularly inspired. A talented band like this will still produce an album of technical quality and solid songs, but there’s not that spark that makes you feel the “wow” thing pounding with your heart. They’re not pushing any boundaries both to deserve the title that used to be put upon them and that is of pioneers. Even it seems they go to remind one of other bands, which wasn’t so pronounced before, be it FATH NO MORE laced with RATM as it breaks out from a TOOL like beginning in ‘Utopia’. There’s still angst, reflective quality, bit of melancholy, yet it still it feels belaboured, artistically stilted. And when their heart doesn’t seem to be in it, neither is mine.
