Album Review

Aaaaah, that’s what Electro and Minimalistic should sound like! THE GIRL AND THE ROBOT from Tyskland (Germany) / Sweden just launched their debut ‘The Beauty of Decay’ - an album repelling straight back to the 80s with bands like EURYTHMICS as their idols or in the last decade COVENANT, CLIENT and most of all RÖYKSOPP, (the band name THE GIRL AND THE ROBOT refers to one of their songs). A beautiful and detailed programming and composing that really gets to the point, sounds created with passion and an awesome voice - that seems to be the way to succeed.

Really, it’s a pleasure just to listen to well-composed and just “simple” songs that are not overcharged and make you to want more. It’s a pity, that this debut just contains 46 minutes of awesome music. Let’s see, what Trisol is about to say: “Glittering minimal drops, passionate Synth soundscapes, gripping sequences, part dreamy, part stomping beats and a huge dose of yearning somewhere between COVENANT and RÖYKSOPP all become vocally ennobled by Plastique.” Aye, there’s nothing else to say!
