Resturlaub is a German movie first in Cinemas across Germany on 11th August which has quite quickly spawned the inevitable release of a soundtrack CD that opens with the movie's title track 'Roll with the Punches' a small melancholic piece of pop music with a poignant string section. 'I've Got You Under My Skin' goes for an early big band/jazz kind of track before 'Dashboard' heads for the more upbeat indie rock pleasures in life with a little hint of ska. 'Where Is The Love' brings in some Country and acoustic pop that makes for an entertaining listen. The thing that strikes you instantly about 'Fucked Me Right Up# is Sean Have's vocal presence clear and high like a bell it adds a breath of grandness to the subtly music backdrop PINK's 'Raise Your Drop' provides an anthem to party to all night and ends the line of "guest" contributions before three tracks off the original score wrap up the compilation, starting with the dancy 'Funky Cold Medina' over to a marriage atmosphere and ending right in the arms of a fiery bolero dance with 'Pitschi in Buenos Aires'.
To some degree the soundtrack lacks cohesion. Over great lengths it doesn't feel like much more than a randomly chosen collection of songs to get a full CD. On the other hand, there's some quality material in the collection which evens that lack a bit.
