Heavy beats, distorted vocals, dreamy synths – the compilation of Dependent's best and newest artists offers the usual stuff the electro scene is provided with. There is little hint of innovation on the record and only already established bands like COVENANT, MESH, SEABOUND, IRIS, and EDGE OF DAWN really shine on the record. The compilation is definitely a good record to have in the car while driving to the next party but it doesn't really convince otherwise. But it's probably made for clubbing activities anyway since most songs on the compilation are in fact remixes of different kinds. However, if this is how 2015 looks like for the electro scene, it doesn't look good at all. The scene has a problem which is a lack of innovation and the reproduction of already known techniques is neither helpful nor successful. Hopefully next year will look better.
