U2 certainly is one of those bands you don’t have to make many words about. Being in the music business for longer than I’m actually alive, tours all over the globe and meanwhile 12 studio albums on their accounts it would rather become an essay than a short historical breakdown if that’s even possible. On 27th February this band released their 12th studio album and this is called ‘No Line on the Horizon’ from which ‘Magnificent’ now was picked as second single which is drifting from an earthly beginning with just the drums, a few electronics loops, and down-tuned guitar into spherically gliding realms with a correspondingly catchy guitar melody and on top of that sound fabric as usually Bono’s vocals put that unmistakable trademark onto the songs.
I’m certainly not the one who could judge if this is a blend of influences that already have been present on previous studio releases. Don’t know them good enough to do so and that’s why I’m just saying that ‘Magnificent’ is a fairly catchy effort to listen to over and over again.
