Album Review

German metallers U.D.O. fronted by former ACCEPT front man Udo Dirkschneider, will unleash their follow-up to 2007's ‘Mastercutor’. ‘Dominator’ happens to be the latest delivering 10-tracks of brutalizing heavy metal mania. Opening up with ‘The Bogeyman’, it sends those chills running instantly up and down your spine, making your skin crawl with fear but excitement too. The instrumentals used here display a creative process that's both upbeat and catchy presenting this galloping vibration. Vocally speaking, the vocals used throughout the album are crisp and clear as a bell making the whole heavy metal experience that more enjoyable. Moving right along, ‘Heavy Metal Heaven’ is next which has that soothing sensational feeling to it, but as it unfolds itself; it becomes intense by the second. Rounding off to be a musical piece I'd consider to be a ballad. When it comes to closing the album you get thrown with a trio of tracks, which go hand in hand, no matter how to place them. ‘Devil's Rendezvous’, ‘Speed Demon’ and ‘Whispers in the Dark’ each carry a "dark" presents engraved within them. Creating that eerie sense of "you're being watched" vibe as you listen through each one. All in all U.D.O.’s ‘Dominator’ is a heavy metallers dream come true, because it provides music that’s smooth catchy fun.
