Album Review

VANITY INK is a Finish band that was formed in the end of 2002. The band has released two EPs (‘...roadkills!’ in 2004 and ‘Vanity is a Full-time Job’ in 2005) and one full-length album ‘On Your Skin’ 2007. VANITY INK has signed up with the Swedish record label Swedmetal records who are now releasing their album ‘More Senseless Random Behaviour’.

‘Smell The Party’ is the first single as well as video from VANITY INK’s album ‘More Senseless Random Behaviour’ it’s an energetic introduction to the record as well to the band for those who have not heard of them before. ‘Let’s Go Get Down’ is catchy and cool with a nice vibe. ‘Fine By Thursday’ is different and I really like it. My favourite song on the album is the song ‘Breathe’; it’s really strong. I like how it begins with Annabella singing beautifully only accompanied by a guitar and then the song changes into something more. ‘A Song on the B Side’ is catchy and has with a lot of attitude. ‘Rock And Roll’ is a faster and rougher song with a chorus that easily get stuck in your mind.

With all the bands that are popping up sometimes like mushrooms in the ground, you need to have your own sound as well as a lot of attitude to manage. I think VANITY INK has done a really good job with their album ‘More Senseless Random Behaviour’. The songs are cool, both musically and lyrically, and I find myself like them and Annabella’s voice more and more.
