Portion Control is a British electronic and industrial band formed in London in 1980. The band calls its music style electropunk or hard rhythmic electronics. They are one of the most famous obscure electronic music acts in the world and have been honoured and name checked by the likes of Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, NiN & Orbital. Portion Control is now highly active and creating innovative, uncompromising electronic audio. After their return in 2004 they have self-released a steady stream of critically acclaimed CDs and EPs, as well as actively presenting their live transmissions at festivals such as the Tinnitus Festival (UK), Reverse Forward festival (Germany), Wave Gothic Treffen (Germany) and the BodyBeats Festival (Belgium), just to name a few. After the successful release of CROP in 2009, the men return this year with all new material and shows that Portion Control is still breaking new ground and opening new doors in electronic music. 'Violently Alive' blends some of the more traditional sounds with the new more aggressive dance style.

Denmark's EBM master Claus Larsen has released the commercial version of his Christmas release "It's who I am" via iTunes. The version up now on iTunes holds no less than 19 (!!) remixes and is available at the bottom price of just 3,99 EURO. The free version, in 192 Kbps MP3 quality, holding a few selected remixes was available for download back in December 2009 and was downloaded by a few thousand fans. Especially on the demand of Alfa Matrix iTunes adapted the pricing for the 19-track EP "It's who I am" so that you can get this release for just 3,99 EURO instead of 11,99 EURO as iTunes had priced it.

The band has begun work for their upcoming third album in Sound Supreme studio, Hämeenlinna, Finland – the same studio where they've recorded the previous album "The Varangian Way". The new album, successor to the renowned records Battle Metal (2004) and The Varangian Way (2007), is due to be released still later this year. They have also just posted the first part of their video blog / studio diary at http://www.youtube.com/turisasofficial

Vocalist, songwriter and producer Mathias Nygård comments:

Sweden’s Thrash Metal act #1 returns with a long-overdue live DVD/CD release entitled “Road Kill”, just in time for their upcoming European tour dates with Slayer. The DVD features an in-depth, very unique “on the road movie” documentary, an intense recording of THE HAUNTED's current and up-to-date live set and the band’s recent promotional video clips as bonus. The intense live show was captured in Amsterdam’s Melkweg on February 13th, 2009 by Fabchannel and its sound was mixed and mastered by long-term band-producer Tue Madsen (Sick Of It All, Dark Tranquillity, Heaven Shall Burn).
