After a brilliant premiere in 2015 and a celebrated second edition in 2016, with a top-filled line-up, the fan was offered everything that makes the heart beat faster. Now, ROCKAVARIA returns after a year of time-out with a bang! In 2018, the rock party is back in the heart of Munich, at the KÖNIGSPLATZ!

Two stages, two days each with ten bands, rock at its best on a completely redesigned Königsplatz in the middle of the Bavarian capital. “Our concept of an urban rock festival has been well received by the public in the past, which has encouraged us to further develop ROCKAVARIA and move it to the heart of the city. The central location and flair of the Königsplatz are unique and that's it what our guests want next to an exciting line-up and high comfort. We are very pleased to be able to report ROCKAVARIA back,” says Andrea Blahetek-Hauzenberger, Managing Director of the organizer, Global Concerts GmbH.

The main stage, “King's Stage”, will be set up opposite the Propyläen. The second stage, “Green Stage”, takes place in the shady park behind the Glyptothek square and offers nearly 3,000 fans the opportunity to rock. Beer garden areas with numerous gastronomic offers provide for the physical well-being. Generous areas for chilling are planned on the extensive grounds. The site offers space for 22,000 visitors a day and is only a five-minute walk from Munich Central Station.

Now the organizer announced the first headliner: On June 10, 2018, ROCKAVARIA presents DIE TOTEN HOSEN on Munich's Königsplatz! The Düsseldorf-based rock band starts their in record time sold out “Laune der Natour” tour shortly, including two Munich dates. Both shows in December 2017 were sold out in seconds. The ROCKAVARIA will therefore present one of the few summer open air bands of the band 2018 in Munich.

Founded in 1982, DIE TOTEN HOSEN is one of the most successful German bands. With songs like ‘Hier kommt Alex’, ‘Alles aus Liebe’ or finally with ‘Tage wie Diese’ or ‘Unter den Wolken’, the group around singer Campino created giant hits. Five times they received the coveted 1Live Krone and 11 times they won the Echo, the most important German music award. The new album, ‘Laune Der Natur’, which was released at the beginning of the year, has since become their tenth number one album and has already been awarded platinum.

In addition to TURBOBIER and DRUNKEN SWALLOWS who guarantee the best mood and exuberant live atmosphere, with the Australians of ROSE TATTOO an absolute rock veteran found his way to Munich. Founded in the early 70s, the music is influenced by the distinctive voice of singer Angry Anderson. The EMIL BULLS celebrate their home game on the Königsplatz - they are among the most successful rock / metal exports that the state capital has to offer. Their new album with the hit single ‘Euphoria’ will be presented at ROCKAVARIA.

With ROYAL REPUBLIC, one of Sweden's hippest young rock bands will be guest in Munich. ROYAL REPUBLIC has already completed major support tours with the TOTEN HOSEN or BLINK 182 and has earned a great name as a very strong live band. With the DONOTS, an alternative rock band that has been traveling for over 22 years with full vigor and down-to-earthiness will join the line-up.
