“Once more the sand of the Weißenhäuser Beach turns black” - so announced the organizers of the indoor Gothic event Plage Noire. 4,000 visitors from all corners of Germany travelled to celebrate together and to witness the apparition of the mysterious Isabelle LeFavre - the legend spun around this ghostly lady. They were not disappointed. The festival was an opportunity to put on a unique weekend with more than 25 bands and an exquisite supporting programme. The last festival which took place in this holiday park with its white apartments and beach was in 2009. Now Plage Noire can celebrate its comeback. Artists and organizers can look back on a successful weekend with many satisfied visitors, who presented themselves in impressive scene outfits and costumes.

On the three festival stages there was every shade of the black scene to experience. The impressive opening of the festival on Friday started with OST + FRONT and MEGAHERZ with their brutal new German hardness shows. MONO INC. rocked not only the Tent Stage, but also the after show party as a DJ team. The Norwegians ZEROMANCER skilfully combined synths with metal. LEICHTMATROSE entertained with their special brand of electro-chanson. Headliners ASP climaxed the Friday evening in the completely full tent with a rousing show that made the hearts of the fans beat faster.

Saturday started with a unique showing of the film “City of Angels” (Warner Bros-1998) on the beach. Electro-Goth-Pop BLUTENGEL convinced the crowd with a performance in their morbid gothic aesthetics. DIE KRUPPS played a distorted, noisy and welding industrial show and the electronics of SUICIDE COMMANDO made the Salle de Fête quake. LORD OF THE LOST, masters of the deeply gloomy staging, rocked their fans from the first song. The Medieval rockers of SUBWAY TO SALLY gave their all on stage. The gripping finale in the tent, which was filled up to the very last place, was taken by the electronic industrial frontier music of VNV NATION. The band DIORAMA did not appear on Saturday for personal reasons - FROZEN PLASMA did a great job of replacing them. DIORAMA has already agreed to make up on their performance in the upcoming year.

Also away from the stage, the festival had much to offer. In every corner of the resort there was something to discover. With fashion shows and live make-up in the Galeria, readings with Christian von Aster and Markus Heitz in the Cri de la Mouette, pre-opening and after-show-parties until the early morning hours, autograph sessions with the favourite bands and not least the artful revival of the Isabelle LeFavre proved that the organizer FKP Scorpio had given much attention to detail. The rough Baltic Sea panorama with dunes, beach and Pier formed the perfect backdrop for this very special event.

“For us as organisers it is the greatest compliment when we see that our visitors are having a good time at our events. This was definitely the case this weekend and we would like to thank all the artists, guests and the crew for two unrivalled days! The black scene is characterized by a strong cohesiveness and it makes us proud that we were able to add a new event to this special community with the Plage Noire, “stated Stephan Thanscheidt, CEO and head of festival booking at FKP Scorpio.

Next year, the legend of Plage Noir will continue on 3th & 4th May 2019. The advance sale already started on Saturday. The demand is huge again and the first apartment category is sold out. Tickets including two nights in the holiday park Weißenhäuser beach are available from €149 on www.plagenoire.de or via the booking hotline +49 (0)1806 00 666 00.
