Björk excites the critics – and plays this summer’s only Scandinavian concert at Roskilde Festival

On Monday, Björk’s new album is released. Roskilde Festival offers the only chance to experience the songs from the critically-acclaimed release on Scandinavian ground.

There is lots to look forward to from Björk at this year’s Roskilde Festival. Right now the first copies of her latest opus are being sold in record stores all over the world – and much indicates that the Icelander will reap some of the most raving reviews this year.

Splendid American live shows
Björk is certainly also peaking live. At the moment she is touring the US, and the trend-setting music site Pitchfork’s critic wrote about a splendid show at the Coachella festival. It contained lots of visuals, and thousands of hands were raised into the air during ”Declare Independence.” The song is pointed out as one of the highlights on the new album, and it will probably be part of the set list this summer.

The only summer concert in Scandinavia
With a new collection of adventurous and atmospheric songs, chances of yet a memorable show are great. Fans of the Icelandic sorceress should not miss her only visit in Scandinavia – at this year’s Roskilde Festival..

What the international music press said about Volta
“Full of hope, eccentricity and wonderfulness...” – NME
“Ten luxuriant, often dark songs… with help from well-picked collaborators, including Timbaland and Malian kora player Toumani Diabate, the gratuitously detailed new disc packs some great moments” – Rolling Stone
”Earth Invader’s African marching rhythms soon give way to the agit-punk of Declare Independence, while Timbaland adds clipped kung fu samples and pounding beats.” (4/5) – BBC
