The first bands already confirmed their appearance at the Hurricane Festival 2008:Radiohead
The term Disc, CD or sound carrier seems obsolete, because RADIOHEAD released several wonderful songs and also released ‘In Rainbows’ as a download. The music was paid voluntary and after the own estimation. The band not only gave big pleasure to their fans with that, but also made quite a splash in the music industry. Musically located between ‘Kid A’, ‘OK Computer’ and ‘Hail to the Thief’, ‘In Rainbows’ documents the superior meaning of the band in today’s music scenery. For traditionalists there'll soon be a CD-Box incl. info, artwork and bonus tracks.
Canada’s most successful export hit these days is melodic Punk Rock of BILLY TALENT and will appear on the next year's Hurricane and Southside Festival exclusively. At the concerts there's a balance between simple and hard songs and more complex tracks. We expect no sprawling Prog-Rock Jams.
Beatstakes
‘Loyal to None’ but anyway closely linked in friendship; after the BEATSTAKES toured from youth centres and established rock clubs to the arenas of this country, the guys from Berlin only visit two Festivals in 2008 Hurricane and Southside.
NoFX
When a band calls their most recent CD ‘They’ve Actually Gotten Worse Live!’ most of the organizers would be scared away. When NOFX also announce that the album was recorded on three consecutive days under the influence of alcoholic beverages, then the result has definitive festival quality. NOFX still make very entertaining, partially critical Punk Rock.
The Hurricane Festival takes places from 20th to 22nd June 2008 in Scheeßel. With these first band confirmations we use the usual selling mechanism and provide a “Special Christmas Selling”. As of 1st December, the reduced Festival tickets are sold for 99 EUR incl. parking / camping, presale charges and including 5 EUR garbage pledge (+ postage). If you order the tickets until the 15th December, it's pretty sure they'll be delivered right in time for Christmas.
