Recently seen in Scheeßel: Three young cadets jazz up the old cutter Hip Hop. In the caboose they create squid-pumping beats, liquid flows with classiest caviar lyrics and decorate them afterwards with sense of humour as well swath smartness. How the band is called that rocks the party? DEICHKIND!

Openness, ideas and inspiration in abundance, all that are THE KOOKS - four guys from the south English Brighton. Their untameable productivity lies in the different musical influences of the band members (Reggae, Funk, Soul and even Jazz) and of course their individual and almost incalculable record collections. THE KOOKS finished their second album these days. The album will get the title ‘Konk’ and will be released at the beginning of April 2008.

MAXIMO PARK are back! The band that conquered the hearts of the fans in a storm with their debut ‘A Certain Trigger’ in 2005 and swept the board at the yearly polls (Album of the year at Musikexpress, Spex-Reader Nr.1 in the categories: Album, Single, Act, Newcomer & Concert plus matchless 10 of10 points at Spiegel Online) returned on 30th March 2007 with the successor ‘Our Earthly Pleasures’. MAXIMO PARK proved with their energetic earwigs and punchy live sound that they belong to the part of the new English rock movement that has come to stay.

In 1992, the four Swedish guys, who skated together for years and through that came across the Skate Punk Sound, founded a band: MILLENCOLIN, named after the skate trick <melancholy>. For 3 years Erik Olson (Guitar), Nikola Sarcevic (Vocals/Bass), Matthias Färm (Guitar) and Fredrik Larson (Drums) travelled through Sweden until they made their breakthrough with their album ‘Life on a Plate’ and became well-known internationally. Their new album is scheduled for a release in April.

THE WOMBATS are a three-man Alternative Pop Rock band from Liverpool. But this short description is not enough. THE WOMBATS have a distinctive style with their extremely danceable Indie Sound. Their debut album ‘A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation’ is well done and soon, nobody is able to resist the call ‘Let’s Dance to Joy Division’.

Over 60 Bands will perform on the festival weekend. The line-up until now: BEASTAKES, BILLY TALENT, DEICHKIND, FOO FIGHTERS, THE KOOKS, MAXIMO PARK,  MILLENCOLIN, NoFX, PANTEÒN ROCOCÒ, RADIOHEAD, RISE AGAINST, SHANTEL & BUCOVINA CLUB ORKESTAR, TURBOSTAAT, THE WOMBATS
