Wacken Open Air Sold OutThe eleventh week of the year 2008 will be an unforgettable one for us in the history of the festival. On 11th March, the Wacken Open Air won the LEA Award for the best festival 2007. Only two days later we can announce the festival to be completely sold-out with 65.000 sold tickets.
With the motto “Wacken Rocks Seaside” a high quality rock and metal event will come to Aurich on 5th July 2008. Besides the original, it’s the only Open Air, which is allowed to use the name Wacken. The long-time contact between the East Frisian agency Marema and the North Frisian agency ICS has been strengthened due to common ideas and interests and due to mutual Frisian understanding and led to the first time cooperation “Wacken Rocks Seaside” in 2008.

Wacken Roadshow 2008
Also in 2008 the Wacken Road Show tours through Europe. This time with: OVERKILL, MOTAL SIN & DRONE. To shorten the waiting time for the festival a bit, the Wacken Roadshow also brings the festival feeling to the cities of Europe. Besides three very hard bands, there will be special campaigns and raffles all around the 19. Wacken Open Air.
W:O:A Metal Battle 2008
In only 5 years a small idea has developed to the biggest newcomer competition for Hard Rock and Heavy Metal bands worldwide. Meanwhile bands in more than 18 countries fight for the local victory and with that, a final place at the Wacken Open Air. The last year’s winner from Brazil TORTURE SQUAD will all be in on it.
