Rapid news about the Amphi Line-up 2009 these days. Just as LAIBACH confirmed their attendance we can announce four new additions to the line-up: Hocico (Sole Festival in Germany 2009!!!), Marsheaux, Auto-Auto, Jesus On Extasy.
With the current album ‘Memorias Atras’, the Mexican electro gods HOCICO proved once again why they’re one of the most successful bands in their genre worldwide. Hot like Chili and a volcano Erk Aicrag and Racso Agroyam once again serve uncompromising electro, making every dance floor burn. For the next summer, HOCICO are all dedicated to the Amphi Festival and welcome you at the Tanzbrunnen for a fiery Fiesta Mexicana on their sole festival performance 2009 in Germany.
Our second newcomer goes by the well-sounding name of MARSHEAUX. Based in Athens Marianthi and Sophia, the masterminds behind MARSHEAUX, belong to the most successful musical exports from their country. Their specialty: Brilliant Synth Pop in the tradition of YAZOO, HUMAN LEAGUE, OMD and DEPECHE MODE, merged with a pinch of Mediterranean femininity.
Some of you surely have already noticed AUTO AUTO aka Johan Hellquist und Erik Frankel through their club hit ‘Shadowlands’ from the ‘Awake the Machines Vol.6’. Indeed, those guys heavily fell in love with the electronics of their machines. The duo doesn’t have to shy away from comparisons to the pioneering days of their fellow countrymen COVENANT and also on the dance floors; AUTO-AUTO put the pedal to the metal. Thrilling and new, this band has a lot to give so come and get it!
After the successfully passed Germany tour as support for EISBRECHER we can now announce JESUS ON EXTASY. The German glam rockers around singer Dorian Deveraux right now are very successful with their new album ‘Beloved Enemy’ an now enrich the program of the Amphi Festival 2008
