(Brussels / Copenhagen) - Claus Larsen from Leaether Strip has announce on his MySpace page ( http://www.myspace.com/leaetherstrip ) that he has plans to perform live in 2009. But the live shows will be on his terms: "If the listeners REALLY want to see my live, I need to do it on my terms totally because of my health issues (...) My terms for now is, if the first show goes well, is that it will be what Leaether Strip has always been. Me, and me only on stage. I will perform all I possibly can live and I will also involve some improvisation and stuff, because most of my songs are very vocal orientated, then I need focus on that with the "normal" songs. No theater, just Pure EBM."

Larsen wants to focus on the smaller venues, "because we all know that it's the most fun for all involved and because I would look very tiny all alone on some festival stage hehe." Expect random single shows worldwide if all goes as planned... And Claus adds: "I need 200% control on myself to do a show. No more crazy tour managers fucking everything up or no disgusting cars with their own ecosystem. It'll be when I want and when I can this time around."

A video from the 'Golem Award 2008' event at Klub Golem in Odense (Denmark) on November 21st where Claus Larsen unfolded his live plans in front of 150 fans is now available on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8deTvqL0sjc ) The award is given to people who have contributed to the underground culture in Denmark.

Leaether Strip recently released the "Retention no.2" 2CD box on the Belgian label Alfa Matrix ( www.alfa-matrix.com ), which is in fact a remastered reissue of Leaether Strip's second album "Science for the satanic citizen" including a bonus disc with new interpretations of the album.
