The ARCTIC MONKEYS owe their career to the internet. Without record company and marketing, but with the exchange of demo songs through the web, the Sheffield-based four-piece conquered a huge fan base. They filled stadiums before their debut album was even released. The debut album then became the fastest-selling record in British music history. It carries the nice title ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ and comprises 13 songs you can all call hits. With ‘Favourite Worst Nightmares’ the monkeys recorded in 2007 a worthy successor entering the UK chart at #1 and the German chart at #2. Rewarded with the Brit Award 2008 for ‘Best British Band’ they’re currently working on their third album and prepare for some live shows in 2009

CLUESO is a songwriter who’s in a way transferring the events of the world directly into his pen. He’s an attentive observer and these fine observations flare up in his lyrics, everyone can follow and empathize. The Erfurt-based singer is with his heart and soul a songwriter. Even when dealing with dramatic issues, there’s still a certain weightlessness oozing from the song’s pores giving rise to hope. Of course he’s transporting it best live with his fantastic band.

One of the biggest winners o the festival season 2008 were THE WOMBATS and were very happy we could get them for the Highfield festival 2009.
