Heavy, hard and challenging rock acts, legendary funk showman and no-nonsense hip hop – five wide-ranging names are ready for Roskilde Festival: Bullet for My Valentine, Trivium, Barra Head, George Clinton Parliament/Funkadelic and Tech N9ne.

Good news for rock fans in the harder and heavier end of the scale. Bullet for My Valentine (UK) is a charging four-piece from Wales, who presents a contemporary metal hybrid. The members in Trivium (US) impress not only with a young average age but also with their modern facelift of progressive thrash-metal. Barra Head (DK) come from the smouldering Danish underground scene with their complex rhythms and roaring rock attacks. The trio presents some of the most tightly played and energetically overwhelming music long heard in Danish rock.

Also living legend and funk mastermind George Clinton (US) is ready for Roskilde Festival with his raving P-funk-crew. Throughout five decades, Clinton has been an outstanding music phenomenon with his mind-blowing mixture of funk, soul and rock. His influence on younger generations of musicians – from stadium rock to hip hop – is highly impressive. George Clinton is still full of beans and refuses to be weighed down by age or trends. Finally, fresh beats and flows from the world of hip hop take over when Tech N9ne (US) shows how no-nonsense hip hop should sound. He has an impressively large span from high-tempo and all the way down to slow-motion rap.
