beyondobsession piecesofmachineryWhen BEYOND OBSESSION released their debut ‘Listen Learn and Speak’ 18 months ago, not only were the critics thrilled and praising this ascending star in the pop sky. But they also caused a sensation with hits like ‘On my Way’, ‘Nothing Like That’ or ‘Tokio Underground’ in the clubs. Since that, a lot has happened for the guys surrounding Nils Upahl, singer and mastermind of the synth pop trio from the Northeast of the Republic. While earning a lot of live experience as support for among others CAMOUFLAGE, DIORAMA, PSYCHE, MELOTRON, T.O.Y. And FORCED TO MODE, they worked continuously on their long-awaited second long-player.

Now, the waiting has come to an end and more importantly, it paid off. The new long-player ‘Pieces Of Machinery’ will be released on the 3rd April 2015 by the Berlin label Popgefahr Records (DE/VISION, GARRETT MILES). It doesn't only build on the qualities of its predecessor but expands its strengths consequently. From the first to the last sound, the ecstatic listener can feel how much the band has matured in the last one and a half years. BEYOND OBSESSION sound more mature but never let their joy of playing be missed which has already coined the debut. Every single one of the ten new songs reflects the emotions during its creation phase. Forceful, pumping beats, elaborate harmonies and complex synth sounds which have a significant retro charm create completely unique worlds of sounds which reveal something new even after listening to them many times, sometimes confronting them amazed, sometimes religiously, but always wanting to get lost in them.

Nils Upahl's brilliant vocals which break new grounds vocally in many songs completes the positive image finally. BEYOND OBSESSION delivered a record with ‘Pieces Of Machinery’ which will leave nobody cold who is interested in synth pop in any way. The band was supported technically by sound engineer Ken Porter who lent a hand with mixing and mastering. Dennis Burmeister (“Monument”) is responsible for the artwork of the record that will be put out as a digipack. Those who want to be convinced by the live qualities of the band can do so shortly as BEYOND OBSESSION will accompany AND ONE as special guests at their upcoming tour which goes from March to May 2015.
