clawfinger enviromentalpatientsOn March 4, the cult band CLAWFINGER will release their new single ‘Environmental Patients’. In the song, the musicians around singer and rapper Zak Tell find more than clear words about the climate crisis. As we are used to from the Swedes, they don’t hold the mirror up to us too closely: the song is about the fact that we are all for climate protection, but quickly forget it when it comes to our own comfort zone. A lot of what we do in terms of environmental protection is much less consistent than what it needs to be to really make a difference.

“Let’s be really honest with ourselves,” Zak Tell said. “We really aren’t as smart as we all think we are. And we’re not trying as hard and as careful as we think we are and how we think we are in general that humans are. Apparently, we lack the insight that we have to learn from our mistakes or at least fully understand how badly we really treat ourselves and our environment. We are very lucky to be able to populate this planet, but we do not appreciate it. To be honest, I’m almost amazed that we’ve even made it this far.”

A strong message, with which CLAWFINGER are back. “We’ve always tried to say things as we think they should and be honest about it,” Zak continued. “Unfortunately, a lot of what we denounced years ago is still relevant.”

Many fans should be more than happy to hear a new single from the Scandinavians, as the band has been rather rare lately. No new album has been released since 2007. Now the musicians are back with a new single and new tour dates. It is hoped at the moment that after more than two years of permanent relocation and postponement, they can finally take place. “We’ve done really well in aging,” Zak Tell brings out his wry side. “Apart from some grey hair and bad knees. So, if you want to see some guys in their prime still having a blast and jumping around on stage, get a ticket and come along!”
