This is undoubtedly the collaboration of pop year 2009. The PET SHOP BOYS, for their upcoming new album ‘Yes’ due on 20th March 2009, joined forces with the hit producer team Xenomania (SUGABABESGABRIELLA CILMI etc). The PET SHOP BOYS who’ll be rewarded at this year’s Brit Pop Awards on 18th February for their outstanding contribution to music wrote 3 of the 11 songs together with Xenomania. The remaining pieces are the brainchild of Tennant/Lowe; Tschaikowsky contributed a few ideas to ‘All over the World’. Brian Higgins/Xenomania produced the album.

Chris Lowe’s excited statement: “The album is impressing! It was a pleasure to work with Xenomania!” And Neil Tennant says: “It’s a fantastic, widespread pop album.” Johnny Marr can be heard as guitarist on numerous songs; the orchestral arrangements on ‘Beautiful People’ and ‘Legacy’ have been created by Owen Pallett (Last Shadow Puppets, Final Fantasy)

The album release of ‘Yes’ is being preceded on 13th March by the single ‘Love etc.’ The PET SHOP BOYS describe this song as being a “Post-lifestyle anthem, comparable to nothing we’ve ever done before.” Currently, the PET SHOP BOYS prepare for a very special show within the scope of the Brit Awards, taking place in February. Furthermore, they’ve composed, together with Xenomania, the current GIRLS ALOUD single ‘The loving kind’. Both bands met during the recordings in the studio of Xenomania, situated in Kent.
