It’s been a long time for the DOVES. All in all 4 years have passed, since their last studio album went straight to #1 of the UK albums chart. Now, they’re back to prove to fans and critics, their waiting for new material since February 2005 wasn’t in vain. The new album carries the title ‘Kingdom of Rust’ and is probably the most adventurous, most intimate, most driving, and most diverse album of the DOVES. In the blogosphere, heavy speculations began circulating about the return of the duo from Manchester, reaching their climax last week, when the band, during their first interview with the NME - that’s already calling ‘Kingdom of Rust’ one of the 10 most important albums of 2009 - talked about the last 18 months of their works in a studio, situated in an old farmhouse near Cheshire.

There, they also met long-time DOVES companion and producer Ben Austin, who was last working on the new STARSAILOR album. Except the two tracks ’10.03’ and ‘Winter Hill’ (Star Producer John Leckie, Stone Roses, Radiohead), he produced the new album ‘Kingdom of Rust’ as well. For the release of the new album, the DOVES offer, with the album track ‘Jetstream’, a driving, kraut rock-esque dance track with the typical melancholic DOVES chorus, an appetizer for the album for two weeks on their homepage http://www.doves.net/

The album ‘Kingdom of Rust’ is going to be released on 3rd April 2009 and the same-titled single on 27th March 2009.
