With ‘The Annie Lennox Collection’ one of the most successful British singer/songwriters of pop music history releases on 6th March 2009 her first greatest hits retrospective. The CD comprises 14 songs from the past 16 years. The timeless songs, chosen for this compilation are the essence of her always distinctive soul music, with world hits like ‘Why’, ‘Walking on Broken Glass’ or the Grammy Awarded ‘No More, I Love You’s’. Furthermore the collection comprises two new songs, specially recorded for this album. Penned by KEANE singer and front man Tom Chaplin is ‘Pattern of Life’, which displays all the features of an ANNIE LENNOX classic at first listen. The second new song and lead track is a cover of the hit single ‘Shining Light’ of Irish Alternative band ASH.

Besides the regular edition, the collection will be released in a limited format as well, including a Bonus CD featuring the Oscar Awarded song ‘Into The West’ (Lord of the Rings - Return of the King), the Joni Mitchell cover version ‘Ladies of the Canyon’, ‘Hush Hush Hush’, the JIMMY  CLIFF classic ‘Many Rivers To Cross’, a traditional entitled ‘Dream Angus’ BJORK’s ‘Mama’, the REM evergreen ‘Everybody Hurts’ in duet with ALLICIA KEYS and Annie’s of COLE PORTER STANDARD’s ‘Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye’

Amongst the numerous hits of the ‘Annie Lennox Collection’ is also the song ‘Song’, referring to the SING campaign she brought to life to point towards the AIDS/HIV pandemic in Africa, to call up for support respectively. ”We’re still in an early stage but I see it as a life-long task” “I’m emerging from behind my singing voice to communicate myself much clearer than before. I want to help getting those a hearing not having the same possibilities I do.”
