Mute to release 'Das Beste Von DAF – 20 Lieder der Deutsch Amerikanischen Freundschaft'

Mute Records is about to release a best of for DAF (Deutsch Amerikanischen Freundschaft), simply titled "Das Beste Von DAF – 20 Lieder der Deutsch Amerikanischen Freundschaft". The release coincides with the band's "Der 30-jährige Krieg - als wär's das letzte Mal" Tour. The tour dates will feature the classic line up of Robert Görl and Gabi Delgado-Lopez. This new Best Of compilation album will be released on The Grey Area of Mute and out on 30th March 2009.

DAF's 1980 album, "Die Kleinen Und Die Bösen" was actually Mute's first ever album release and featured Robert Görl, Gabi Delgado-Lopez, Chrislo Haas and Wolfgang Spelmans. Following the departure of Haas and Spelmans, the core members of drummer, composer and programmer Robert Görl, and vocalist, lyricist and strategist Gabi Delgado-Lopez continued as a duo and signed to Virgin. It was at this time that DAF released their 3 most commercially successful albums within an 18 month period: "Alles Ist Gut", "Gold Und Liebe" and "Für Immer". Robert Görl and Gabi Delgado-Lopez briefly got back together in 1985 for "1st Step to Heaven" and again in 2003 for "Fünfzehn neue D.A.F-Lieder".

The 2009 tour is the first time they have toured extensively since the early 80's and holds the first UK date for more than 25 years at the Islington Academy, London on 28 March 2009. Says Robert Görl: "A reunion of DAF was always in the air – it was only a matter of time."
