Now it’s official: OOMPH! will headline the IV. Amphi Festival on Saturday, 19th July 2008. The lower Saxony winners of the “Bundesvision Song Contest” will be at the festival for the first time. And they are not coming alone:
As a special gift for the fans Dero, Crap and Flux will present songs from their upcoming album which will be released in 2008 as well as a thundering Best-of programme of their greatest hits. With ‘Augen auf!’, ‘Gott ist ein Popstar’ and ‘Träumst du’, the trio from the car city Wolfsburg reached an audience of millions way beyond the borders of the scene and also live they are an undisputed power. Catchy, stirring and blessed with an irresistible stage presence OOMPH! is the perfect choice for a hot Open Air Party at the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne. According to the taste of the fans: Hard but heartily.
More band confirmations for the Amphi Festival 2008
In the rush for the home stretch the programme of the Amphi Festival 2008 gears up once more and presents - after several top-class bands like AND ONE, PROJECT PITCHFORK and DEINE LAKAIEN - again presents 5 extraordinary acts.
DAS ICH (Best of show), THE LOVECRAVE, SPIRITUAL FRONT, CONEMA SRANGE as well as the MEDIEVAL BABES confirmed their appearance at the Amphi Festival 2008 and each one of them is a class of its own.“Gib mir mein Destillat” - electronically powerful, decorated with apocalyptic magniloquence Bruno Kramm and Stefan Ackermann known as DAS ICH are already long time classics in the scene. Staginess and pathos integrated as deliberate stylistic elements and the distinctive symbiosis of melodic Dark Wave and gloomy electronics makes them living legends after almost 20 years.
Everyone who likes it more rocking is right with the LOVECRAVE. The likeable Milanese around singer Francesca Chiara Casellati aren’t considered one of the hottest rock exports of Italy just since the winning of the ‘M.E.I. Awards’. Their debut album ‘The Angel and the Rain’ was well received in 2006 and also live, THE LOVECRAVE convince with Italian temperament, killer hooks and the charismatic voice of Francesca Casellati.
With SPIRITUAL FRONT another Italian band will be guests at the Amphi Festival 2008. Emotive, experimental, acoustic yet unbelievable catchy the Romans present their ‘Nihilistic Suicide Pop’. Elements of Pop, Rock and neoclassic fuse to a multifaceted mixture making music lovers click their tongues.
CINEMA STRANGE, the kings of Death Rock from New York City! At the same time fascinating as polarizing Lucas Lanthier and his guys will perform at the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne for the first time to give their crazy spot of colour to the festival. Enriching the musical line-up with another variety this cult band is just good enough.
As the last new addition for the moment the MEDIEVAL BABES take the Amphi audience on a journey into the female world of the middle ages. Mystic and nature affinity between courtly-lobe play and the morning dew of an Irish wood glade. Medieval poetry meets fairy-like voices in harmony with the senses. Re-experience the middle ages on the Amphi with the MEDIEVAL BABES. Gentle, fragile and incredibly beautiful.

Area Plan & Changed Parking Places
April Showers bring may Flowers and also several things will change at the Amphi Festival in July 2008. After the suggestions of the past year we managed to critically improve the area segmentation especially the location of the parking places.
As of now the parking areas P2, P3, P4, P5, P6 and P11 are available for all festival attendees. The areas are in close proximity to the Tanzbrunnen and are reachable in about 5 minutes. Of course the parking at those places is free for all festival attendees.
