Eric Fish

ERIC FISH’s homes usually are the rock stages of our country as the fronter of SUBWAY TO SALLY. Here he presents a different side. Framed by candle light, accompanied by 3 friends on the piano and the acoustic guitar, he sits there and just plays his songs. Especially as his often last 3 hours and a sometimes thoughtful or funny but always deep unity between the four musicians and their mostly sitting audience is established.

The third studio release of ERIC FISH is now here. He reflects his environment much more intense in these twelve songs than on its predecessor ‘Zwilling’. The title ‘Gegen Den Strom’ is surely chosen metaphorically, but in every song you’ll find a correspondence to this caption. So unrestrained, so open, but also so romantic, ERIC FISH turns his soul inside-out, sings his opinions and beliefs into our minds and hearts, that you won’t find anything like it in our current music scene. You instinctively want to light a candle. In the world of beats and loops, ERIC FISH indeed strives against the stream and also keeps the similar live line-up of piano and acoustic guitar played by himself, Gerrit Hecht, Rainer Michalek and Uwe Nordwig. With this you’ll not only have fun with beautiful acoustic music but it also gets you into brooding inevitably.
