Every era has its heroes. The term Death Rock will be connected to Eva O and their Superheroes as well, besides names LIKE INAH CANCER UND 45 GRAVE, THE PLAGUE, SCREAMS FOR TINA and ROZZ WILLIAMS and CHRISTIAN DEATH. With their first two albums, the band created two of the probably most important and wanted manifestations of gloomiest, energetic rock music in the early 80s. Shaped by the harsh, wailing guitar sound, the trademark of Ms Ortiz, the songs are sounding raw and unpolished. Until today, the anxiety, the emotional disunity can be felt in the music, which is still deeply entrenched in the Punk. Today’s concert of the trio from California leads you back to this early phase of which the album “Cry For Help” was the centre: A lesson in music history.
THE SIMP is a fascinating Darkwave band from Cologne. Inspired by idols like THE CURE, SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES or FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, THE SLIMP grabs the guitar wave of the 80s by its roots and put their own stamp on it. A fundament of 2 dark basses, a melodic guitar packed with effects and the sensual voice of singer Elisa Day are shaping this sound, which is moving from dark and menacing to melancholic and fragile. As support of top acts like PHILLIP BOA AND THE VOODOOCLUB, CINEMA STRANGE, SKELETAL FAMILY and numerous times THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE could already prove their talent in all of Germany. At the moment the band is working on their third album which will open another secret door in the area of Wave.
